| Aviation Degree Programs: |
- Air Traffic Control: The Federal Aviation Administration has designated the University of Alaska Anchorage as part of the College Training Initiative program. UAA is one of 33 approved CTI Air Traffic Control schools across the nation and was one of the five original schools approved at the program's beginning. To date, the UAA ATC program has graduated more than 400 students. UAA boasts a high graduation rate at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy after graduation from UAA.
- Aviation Administration/Management: The Aviation Administration/Management program prepares students for various administration and management positions within the aviation industry. The AAS degree in Aviation Administration provides an introduction to administrative duties and requirements as well as the skills necessary to provide entry-level administrative support, while the BSAT with the Aviation Management emphasis is designed to prepare graduates for management positions in all aspects of the aviation industry. This emphasis area includes courses specifically written to familiarize the student with the unique operational and management requirements of airlines, airports and general aviation support operations.
- Aviation Maintenance Technology: The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is an approved Federal Aviation Administration Part 147 school and is a nationally recognized course of study designed to prepare graduates for entry into positions as maintenance technicians in general aviation, corporate aviation, airlines, or aerospace manufacturing. In addition to traditional aircraft maintenance courses, the curriculum emphasizes modern aircraft systems including electronics, composite structures, automatic controls and turbine engines. The division offers two Aviation Maintenance Undergraduate Certificates, one with an Airframe and the other with a Powerplant emphasis.
- Professional Piloting: Offering an associates degree and a bachelor's degree emphasis, UAA's Professional Piloting program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the aviation industry as airplane pilots. Theory and flight training is provided through a Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 141 approved flight-training program. Once a student has begun study toward a declared major, all flight training must be completed through the UAA flight training program. Motion-based flight-training devices and simulators with sophisticated visual capabilities are incorporated into the program. A faculty composed of aviation professionals with extensive industry experience provides outstanding instruction in this program.
