Utah State University offers many degrees in Aviation Technology at various levels. From a minor to a master, the robust program will train students to become equipped with the skills they need in the industry they love - all while nestled in beautiful Cache Valley which allows a unique training experience that can't be found anywhere else.

The Aviation Technology program at Utah State University prides itself in applying cutting-edge technology with exceptional training to produce high quality pilots and technicians the industry needs. Two B.S. degrees are offered in the Aviation Technology program -?professional pilot?for fixed wing and rotorcraft (helicopters), and?maintenance management.?

Professional Pilot students?must choose an emphasis: fixed wing or rotorcraft. These students receive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications and are trained to become commercial pilots. All pilot students will take core classes in weather, aviation law, and human factors in safety. They will also take emphasis courses that will help them develop skills and knowledge specific to industry needs.

Aircraft Maintenance Technician?students trained through the maintenance management program will complete the courses required for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses. They will also have coursework in aviation law, human factors in safety, and airline management. Management and communications courses are incorporated into the program to provide essential business skills. An aircraft maintenance technician - airframe and powerplant A.A.S. degree can also be obtained.

Unmanned Aerial Systems?(UAS) is growing and so we offer a?minor in unmanned aerial systems?Students can earn their Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot license and learn about building, maintaining, and flying UAS and what jobs are out there in that field.

We also offer a?master's in aviation science?that is 100% online and available through the program.
