Technology notice
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies may include pixels, local storage, and identifiers used by service providers. They can be set by us or by third parties whose services appear on the site.
How this site uses them
Essential and security-related
Inquiry and account-related pages can use session technology to support security controls, form handling, login state, and your saved privacy choice. Essential technology cannot be switched off through our preference tool.
Functional
Optional third-party features, such as the blog's social-sharing menu, stay off until allowed in opt-in regions. For U.S. visits they may start on and can be turned off at any time.
Analytics
Google Analytics helps us understand which directory and resource pages are useful. It stays off until allowed in opt-in regions. For U.S. visits it may start on and can be turned off at any time.
Advertising
Google advertising supports our free directory and may measure or personalize ads. It stays off until allowed in opt-in regions. For U.S. visits it may start on, but it remains off when Global Privacy Control is detected and can be turned off at any time.
Current observed cookie inventory
The main site and aviation blog use the same FlightSchoolList.com domain, so they share this cookie inventory. In an anonymous browser review on August 5, 2026, we observed the following:
- PHPSESSID — Essential, FlightSchoolList. A temporary server session used for form security and requested site functions. This was the only browser-readable cookie observed before optional consent.
- _ga and _ga_VPPLQG5PNH — Analytics, Google Analytics. Used to distinguish browser activity and maintain analytics session state. These appeared only after Analytics was allowed.
- _gcl_au — Advertising, Google Ads / AdSense. Used for advertising measurement. It appeared only after Advertising was allowed.
- FCCDCF and FCNEC — Advertising, Google. Used for advertising consent or ad-delivery choices. These appeared only after Advertising was allowed.
The AddToAny blog-sharing feature is treated as Functional and loads when Functional is on. It set no browser-readable cookie during this review. Server-secured cookies and third-party storage may not be visible to a browser-based review.
Your choices
Use to accept, reject, or change each optional purpose at any time. Rejecting is presented as directly as accepting. Your versioned choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days.
Regional notice
A locally hosted IP database selects the European, India DPDP, California, other U.S., or strict global notice. Optional purposes start on for U.S. visits under an opt-out model and start off in opt-in or strict regions. The lookup does not send your IP to a geolocation service, and any failure defaults to strict opt-in. IP geolocation by DB-IP.
Global Privacy Control
When your browser sends GPC, analytics, advertising storage, and browser-based sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising remain off. GPC does not cancel a school inquiry you intentionally submit.
