Fly Away Hang Gliding

Fly Away Hang Gliding has provided hang-gliding instruction and tandem flights in Santa Barbara since 1995. Students learn ground handling and basic controls before progressing up a 200-foot training hill toward the USHPA Hang 1 beginner and Hang 2 novice ratings, with equipment and hill transport included in lessons.

Mountain tandem flights include introductory ground instruction and allow participants to handle the glider in flight. Advanced training progresses toward supervised mountain flying at local sites. The school operates from the Elings Park training hill and surrounding mountain launches, not Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, so the unrelated airport mapping has been removed.
