George Stone Technical College

George Stone Technical College in Pensacola, Florida provides aviation-maintenance training through separate Airframe and Powerplant programs. Each 1,350-hour pathway begins with Aviation Maintenance General Technician coursework and continues into the selected mechanic specialty.

The Airframe curriculum prepares students for the FAA General and Airframe written, oral, and practical examinations. The Powerplant curriculum prepares students for the FAA General and Powerplant examinations. Both programs combine classroom study with shop and laboratory work using the tools, materials, equipment, processes, and safety procedures found in aircraft maintenance.

Training is intended for employment or advanced study in commercial and general aviation, including work as an aviation maintenance general technician, airframe technician, or powerplant technician.
