Georgia Northwestern Technical College

Georgia Northwestern Technical College operates its Aviation Training Center at Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome, Georgia, not at Dawson Field or the college's administrative campus. The maintenance curriculum covers reciprocating and turbine powerplants, metal and wood airframes, aircraft systems, inspection, diagnosis and repair through classroom and hands-on laboratory work.

Current awards include an Aviation Maintenance Technology associate degree and diploma, a combined Aviation Maintenance Technician certificate, and separate Airframe and Powerplant certificates. The center uses full aircraft, engines and FAA-curriculum laboratories, and students can also earn industry tool and measurement credentials through the college's NC3-certified program.
