Lookout Mountain Flight Park

Lookout Mountain Flight Park has trained hang-glider and paraglider pilots since 1978 at its free-flight resort near Chattanooga. USHPA-certified instructors teach introductory experiences and structured rating programs using ground school, training hills, instructional tandems, supervised launches and aerotow.

Hang-gliding options range from one-day and weekend introductions through Hang 1 and Hang 2 packages, mountain-launch preparation and solo aerotow training. Paragliding options include one- and two-day introductions and a progression through ground handling, training-hill flights and supervised P2 mountain launches.

The park includes a 1,340-foot mountain launch, a large landing zone, training hills, equipment sales, cabins and camping. These facilities are purpose-built free-flight sites rather than Fox Mountain Airport, so the unrelated airport assignment has been removed.
