About Northwestern Michigan College
Northwestern Michigan College operates an FAA-approved Part 141 Aviation A.A.S. in Traverse City, with flight training beginning during the first semester.
Students can complete Private Pilot, Instrument and Commercial courses under Part 141 and add multi-engine, CFI, CFII and seaplane ratings. Single- and multi-engine aircraft, a Level 6 simulator, aerobatic and tailwheel options and airline recruiting partnerships support the professional-pilot path.
NMC also offers an Uncrewed Aerial Systems Technology A.A.S. and Level I certificate through an FAA UAS Collegiate Training Initiative program. Hands-on work covers Part 107 preparation, multirotor and fixed-wing systems, aerial photography, mapping, agriculture, industrial inspection, advanced operations and UAS maintenance.
