About Portland Community College
Portland Community College offers distinct pilot, aircraft-maintenance and drone-related college programs.
The limited-entry Aviation Science AAS combines PCC ground and academic courses with flight training conducted through Hillsboro Aero Academy at Hillsboro Airport. Airplane students progress through Private, Instrument, Commercial and optional CFI, CFII and multi-engine instructor coursework, preparing for professional fixed-wing careers.
The FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technology program has trained technicians since 1969. Its AAS and Airframe, Powerplant and combined maintenance certificates use intensive modules and a two-hangar instructional facility with 15 aircraft, including helicopters. PCC also offers a 12-credit Geospatial UAS Specialist certificate covering drone operations and geospatial modeling, with coursework designed to prepare students for Part 107 knowledge.
