Middle Tennessee State University Department of Aerospace

Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Aerospace offers B.S. concentrations in Professional Pilot, Aviation Management, Flight Dispatch, Maintenance Management, Aerospace Technology, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operations and UAS Technology, plus online master's concentrations in aviation education, management, and safety and security management.

The Professional Pilot sequence leads through Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial single-engine and multi-engine credentials, with optional CFI, CFII, MEI, tailwheel and cross-country flight labs. The AABI-accredited program is FAA authorized for restricted-ATP certification and uses glass-cockpit aircraft and advanced simulation, including CRJ-700 training devices.

MTSU also operates an FAA Part 147 Airframe and Powerplant pathway and an FAA Part 65 Aircraft Dispatcher school. Flight labs continue at Murfreesboro Municipal Airport while the department expands activity and facilities at Shelbyville Municipal Airport.
