Mission Soaring Center

Mission Soaring Center has provided hang-gliding instruction and equipment support in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1973. Its USHPA-certified instructors teach small classes at a private training site near Tres Pinos, south of San Jose, while business operations are based in Fremont.

Training begins with ground handling, launch, landing and low solo flights and progresses through H1, H2, H3 and H4 skills. Pilots who have reached the H1 level can add high-altitude aerotow instruction. The shop sells and services new and used gliders, harnesses, helmets, parachutes and replacement parts.

The former Milpitas address and San Jose International Airport mapping are no longer current. The official site also marks its tandem adventure packages as unavailable, so that former offering has been removed from this profile.
