About Silvercreek Glider Club
Silvercreek Glider Club is an educational soaring club at Silver Creek Gliderport northeast of St. Louis.
Members fly a varied club fleet that includes a Schweizer 2-33A primary trainer, ASK 21 and Grob Twin Astir two-seat gliders and Schweizer 1-26E and 1-34 single-seat sailplanes. A 250-horsepower Piper Pawnee provides aerotows, and club tow pilots and flight instructors volunteer their time.
The club operates throughout the year on weekends and holidays, with other days available by arrangement. Visitors can join for one day and take a familiarization flight, while regular members receive access to instruction and club aircraft and also maintain Soaring Society of America membership.
