About Central Alabama Soaring Association
Central Alabama Soaring Association is a glider club and training organization at Merkel Field in Sylacauga, Alabama. CASA continues the history of the Sylacauga Soaring Society and Birmingham Soaring Society, clubs whose roots date to around 1969.
The association provides glider instruction through a dedicated training contact, operates club sailplanes and towplanes, and offers discovery flights on suitable Saturdays. New soaring pilots can join the member-run program and train in the club's two-seat Blanik L-23.
