About Eastern Florida State College

Eastern Florida State College offers a full-time, limited-access Aviation Maintenance Technology program that moves from its Melbourne Airport center to the Titusville campus beginning Fall 2026.

The two-year, 2,250-clock-hour sequence includes separate Aviation Airframe Mechanics and Aviation Powerplant Mechanics Career and Technical Certificates. Training begins with 450 hours of General mechanics and continues through 900 hours each of Airframe and Powerplant classroom and hangar instruction.

Students prepare for FAA written, oral and practical examinations through hands-on work with aircraft structures, engines and systems. Certified A&P mechanics can also pursue the college's separate 60-credit Aviation Maintenance Administration associate degree, which applies 33 articulated credits for active Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
