About Central Washington University

Central Washington University Aviation operates its Flight Training Center at Bowers Field in Ellensburg. The BS Professional Pilot curriculum develops students through private, instrument and commercial pilot stages and offers either a Certified Flight Instructor or multiengine option. Training uses a fleet of Piper Archer, Arrow and Seminole aircraft and six flight simulators.

The department also offers a BS in Aviation Management with Aviation Management, Maintenance Management and Executive Pilot specializations. Its professional-pilot curriculum includes FAA-approved coursework that can support a reduced-hour restricted ATP pathway for qualifying graduates.
