Cypress College

Cypress College's Aviation & Travel Careers department offers certificates, associate degrees, and individual courses across pilot education, flight-attendant preparation, airline and airport services, aviation management, travel and tourism, homeland transportation security, and unmanned aircraft systems.

Pilot coursework includes Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Commercial Pilot and advanced pilot certificates, flight-training and flight-simulator courses, navigation, meteorology, aircraft systems, crew resource management, and aviation-instructor studies. The UAS program offers basic and advanced certificates and an associate degree with flight, simulator, safety, legal-compliance, and operational coursework.

Flight-attendant students can complete basic and advanced certificates or an associate degree while studying airline operations, passenger service and safety, first aid, security, emergency procedures, and cabin safety. New Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 cabin trainers provide hands-on door, exit, firefighting, CPR, and emergency-egress practice. These programs are taught at the Cypress campus rather than Los Alamitos Army Air Field.
