Aero Club Albatross

Aero Club Albatross is a member-run soaring club headquartered at Blairstown Airport in New Jersey, with additional operations at Wurtsboro Airport in New York. Members fly year-round in thermal, ridge, wave, and convergence conditions, while commercial operators at the airports provide glider instruction, rides, and aerotows.

New pilots can train from first lesson through solo and the Private Pilot glider certificate, then progress into higher-performance aircraft, ridge and cross-country flying, Soaring Society of America badge flights, and regional contests with club coaching.

The club owns nine sailplanes ranging from Schweizer metal trainers to Grob two-seat and Rolladen-Schneider high-performance gliders, plus a Cessna 182 towplane. Members also participate in aircraft restoration and maintenance projects at the club's Blairstown workshop.
