Hesston College

Hesston College Aviation operates its Part 141 professional-pilot programs at Newton City-County Airport. The four-year Bachelor of Science sequence covers Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine, CFI, CFII and MEI preparation; the two-year Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences concentrates on private, instrument and commercial training.

Students train in Piper Archer aircraft and simulation equipment and can qualify for a restricted ATP at 1,000 flight hours after the bachelor's program or 1,250 hours after the associate program. The college also publishes a SkyWest Airlines partnership and continues to support air-traffic-control instruction through its FAA Collegiate Training Initiative background.
