About Skyline Soaring Club
Skyline Soaring Club is a volunteer 501(c)(7) organization focused on glider flight education at Front Royal-Warren County Airport.
Club instructors train new student pilots and powered-aircraft pilots adding a glider rating. A published syllabus and the Manage2Soar system track lesson progress, flight logs and instructor endorsements. Training uses two Schleicher ASK 21 two-seat gliders, with PW-5 and Discus CS sailplanes available as members advance.
Two club towplanes support an operation that records more than 1,500 flights annually. The Shenandoah Valley location provides thermal, Blue Ridge ridge-lift and mountain-wave soaring. The club accepts members rather than selling commercial rides and traces its origins to 1993.
