About Tuskegee University Aviation Science Program

Tuskegee University Aviation Science Program is a bachelor's degree pathway for professional and military pilots rooted in the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Flight operations take place at Moton Field through the university's partnership with LIFT Academy. Private Pilot and multi-engine add-on training are conducted under Part 61, while Tuskegee's FAA-approved Part 141 courses cover the Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot certificate. CFI, CFII and MEI courses are also available.

The academic curriculum covers aerodynamics, aircraft systems, aviation meteorology, safety, human factors, aviation law, leadership and unmanned aircraft. Students train in Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft and modern flight-training devices, and qualifying graduates can pursue reduced-hour Restricted ATP eligibility.
