Western Michigan University College of Aviation delivers flight, maintenance and aviation-management education at Battle Creek Executive Airport.

The FAA Part 141 Aviation Flight Science program progresses through Private, Instrument and Commercial single- and multi-engine training. A Professional Aviation Preparation minor supports CFI, CFII and MEI training, while a seaplane course open to the general aviation community uses a Piper Super Cub on floats. The flight fleet includes Cirrus SR20s, Piper Seminoles and a Super Decathlon, supported by Frasca and Boeing 737 training devices.

Aviation Technical Operations is an FAA Part 147 bachelor's pathway leading to Airframe and Powerplant examination eligibility. Aviation Management and Operations, Aircraft Dispatch and Scheduling and Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations programs complete the portfolio. All three aviation bachelor's programs hold AABI accreditation, and WMU's aviation history began in 1939.
