About Windy City Soaring Association
Windy City Soaring Association is a volunteer, member-run 501(c)(7) soaring club based at Hinckley Airport.
Club flight instructors train new glider pilots and help rated pilots build proficiency. Introductory flights pair visitors with a certificated commercial glider pilot or instructor for a dual-control sailplane flight, generally during the April-to-November flying season.
The club fleet includes an ASK 21, Grob 103 Twin II and PW-5 gliders supported by two towplanes. Members participate in ground operations, aircraft handling, maintenance support and other club work.
