Description

Alaska Float & Tailwheel Training operates from Scout Lake in Sterling on the Kenai Peninsula, offering floatplane, tailwheel and broader airplane instruction. Its float courses use a PA-18 Super Cub and range from focused rating preparation to float-and-mountain flying, advanced adventures and refresher training for pilots who already hold a Single-Engine Sea rating.

A combined course pairs Super Cub float time with tailwheel training in a Cessna 140, and the school also offers instrument, Commercial, CFI and CFII training in a Cessna 172M. All published course flight time is dual, and training in a pilot's own airplane requires proof of insurance or a liability release.
