Algonquin College Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Description

Algonquin College's Aircraft Maintenance Technician program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma delivered through the School of Advanced Technology in Ottawa.

The Transport Canada-recognized program combines classroom study with extensive practical labs at the Ottawa campus and the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum. Coursework covers piston and turbine engines, propellers, airframes, hydraulics, landing gear, electrical and avionics systems, rotary-wing controls, inspections and hands-on maintenance procedures.

Graduates with qualifying academic standing receive an 18-month experience credit toward the Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licensing pathway. The current aviation offering is based in Ottawa; Algonquin's Pembroke campus does not list a flight-training program.
