Description

Augusta Technical College operates its FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technology Training Center at Thomson-McDuffie Regional Airport in Thomson, Georgia.

Students can pursue an Aviation Maintenance Technology degree or diploma, a combined Aviation Maintenance Technician certificate, or separate Airframe and Powerplant certificates. The complete A&P sequence spans six semesters and combines maintenance theory with hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, service and repair of certificated aircraft, engines, systems and components.

The approximately 16,000-square-foot center contains two classrooms, six instructional laboratories and four complete aircraft. A testing center in the airport terminal supports the written examinations required for mechanic certification.
