Description

High Desert Hang Gliding is an Albuquerque-based hang-gliding school led by USHPA-certified instructors. Students learn at their own pace, beginning with foundational control and low training flights and progressing toward higher-altitude and more advanced flying goals.

The school supports training for foot-launched and tow operations, mountain flying, cross-country skills, aerobatic development, and powered hang-gliding interests. Its instructors also evaluate ratings and help qualified pilots work toward hang-gliding instructor credentials.

Founder Mel Glantz is listed by the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association as a current Albuquerque hang-gliding instructor.
