Sandhills Fliers

Description

Sandhills Fliers is the current on-site flight school at Moore County Airport, succeeding the airport's former Moore County Flight Center identity. Founded in 2014 by retired military pilots and other local aviators, the school is now a division of Sovereign Aerospace.

Training covers Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor credentials. Specialty instruction includes high-performance, complex and tailwheel endorsements. The school is a credentialing-assistance vendor for U.S. service members and also supports veteran-readiness and flight-training financing programs.

Its current fleet includes glass-cockpit Vulcanair trainers, Cessna aircraft, Mooney and Cessna complex or high-performance airplanes, tailwheel aircraft and a full-motion Redbird FMX simulator. Aircraft rental and discovery flights are available from the Carthage base.
