Northern California Soaring Association

Northern California Soaring Association is a volunteer-run gliding club based at Byron Airport. Members operate four club gliders and a tow plane on weekends, with some weekday instruction and seasonal Sierra Nevada operations.

FAA-certified member instructors teach new glider pilots, pilots transitioning from powered aircraft or foot-launched flying, and experienced soaring pilots developing cross-country skills. Trial membership permits dual lessons before a student commits to full membership, and regular students can work through solo and the FAA Private Pilot glider practical test.

The club provides basic and advanced instruction and glider rental to members. Its abbreviated name and generic description have been replaced with the current full organization name and verified training model.
