About McCall Mountain/Canyon Flying Seminars
McCall Mountain/Canyon Flying Seminars has specialized in backcountry aviation safety since 1997. Based at McCall Municipal Airport, the school teaches pilots to evaluate density altitude, aircraft performance, mountain weather, confined areas, emergency canyon turns, stabilized approaches, landing sites, abort points and off-pavement operations.
Current options include two- and three-day Fundamentals courses, a four-day Comprehensive Mountain and Canyon course, a five-day all-inclusive Idaho backcountry excursion, a Utah Canyonlands safari, individual instruction and customized Part 121 or professional-pilot programs. Pilots may train in their own aircraft or use available rental aircraft.
The school also provides individualized tailwheel endorsements in high-density-altitude, off-pavement environments and develops mission-specific instruction for government, military and professional operators.
