About this opportunity

EAA's post-secondary portfolio funds aviation students across universities, community colleges, technical schools, and professional programs. One annual application matches candidates to named scholarships covering flight, maintenance, engineering, management, air traffic control, historical research, and other aviation fields.

Who can apply

Applicants must be at least 16, have a minimum unweighted 2.5 GPA, and meet the criteria of the matched award. They may not already hold a master's or doctoral degree. U.S., Canadian, and eligible international students attending in the United States or Canada may apply. EAA membership is preferred but not required.

What the award may cover

Post-secondary awards support eligible colleges, universities, technical schools, or community colleges in professional flight, aviation management, aerospace or aeronautical engineering, air traffic control, A&P maintenance, aviation STEM, and related fields.

How to apply

Submit EAA's centralized application, transcript, and one non-relative recommendation between October 1 and December 19. One application is considered for every named post-secondary award whose criteria the applicant meets.

  • Verify the current deadline and every eligibility requirement.
  • Confirm how funds are paid and when they must be used.
  • Prepare transcripts, certificates, logbook totals, references, and essays early.
  • Save the confirmation and a complete copy of your submission.

Selection and application notes

Committees assess academics, aviation passion, extracurricular activity, volunteering, community engagement, financial or regional criteria, and the requirements attached to individual donor funds.

Planning tip: Upload a transcript showing the cumulative unweighted GPA and describe volunteering and aviation participation clearly; many named awards apply additional regional, degree, or career preferences.
