Craven Community College operates the Institute of Aeronautical Technology at its Havelock campus. The FAA Part 147 Aviation Systems Technology program offers an AAS plus separate Airframe and Powerplant diplomas and certificates, covering general maintenance, structures, systems, engines, inspections and regulatory documentation.

Craven also lists an Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology AAS, aviation sheet-metal and advanced sheet-metal workforce courses, FAA General/Airframe and General/Powerplant preparation, and civilian drone training. The inaccurate implication that training occurs on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point has been removed; the listing now uses the college's current Havelock campus address and program contact.
